Institutional logo research

In the film industry, it is quite easy to tell the difference between a logo from a mainstream company, and a logo from an independant company. This is because Mainstream companies have a lot more money at their disposal, therefore they still have lots of money left over after making their films which they can spend on making their logo look professional and high quality.

This however is different with independant companies as they do not have no where near as much money as mainstream companies, therefore they are not able to spend lots of money of their logos, as unlike mainstream companies, they don't have a lot of money left over after making their films to make their logo look decent.

The logos above are all logos of mainstream companies (Warner Bros, Columbia and Universal). As you can see, these logos are not very simple, and they are very high quality. This is because these companies are mainstream, and therefore have more money at their disposal to spend on making their logos look good.

The logos here are logos from independant companies (Lionsgate and Film 4). As you can see, unlike the mainstream logos above, these are very simple, and there is nothing complicated about them, as the Lionsgate logo is just a sky with the company name written across it, and Film 4's logo is just a plain red background with 'Film 4' printed on it. This is because these companies are independant, therefore, unlike the mainstream companies, do not have the money left over after making films to spend lots on making their logos look perfect, and have detail, like the mainstream ones above have.
